U-Scan is a breakthrough in decentralized health technology. a discreet, in-home urine-analysis lab designed by Withings to track key biomarkers. Our objective was to transform this sophisticated micro-laboratory into a calm, structured visual experience. I was responsible for bridging the gap between high-level engineering and consumer wellness, ensuring the experience felt sophisticated and lifestyle-oriented rather than purely technical.
I defined the visual language and directed the production, managing the synergy between live-action cinematography and motion design. The concept was built around a "positive, warm future", creating a laboratory atmosphere that felt futuristic yet deeply human. Working alongside the CMO and technical advisors, I led the project from concept to execution, ensuring we captured high-fidelity footage of the automatic cartridge system under tight constraints. I focused on a rhythm of clarity and trust, using precise close-ups and soothing motion to guide users through their biological data.
The resulting asset library translated U-Scan’s complex technology into a warm, accessible preventive health narrative. By balancing technical rigor with a refined, optimistic aesthetic, the production became a defining element of the global launch and a cornerstone of Withings’ visual identity.
